ACTIVITIES

 

 

Lovre College provides a range of extra curricular activities without any additional cost to parents. School offers the best trainers for all activities.

Physical education, sports and extra curricular activities are all an important part of the education in Louvre.

Physical education is a compulsory subject in Louvre and students from nursery to advanced level should select at least two sports activities. These activities are conducted during week ends and afternoons. Please visit our newly completed sports complex at Pannipitiya school premises. We offer the following sports activities.

   
Swimming  
Swimming is a very popular sport at Louvre. From nursery to grade 5 swimming is included in their time tables. Our kiddies pool is used to train nursery and pre grade children. The 25 m long main pool is used to train children of grades one and upwards.

Louvre conducts an inter house swimming meet every year. Our swimming squad is coached by Mr. Suresh Thabrew and the squad represents the school at swimming events with other schools.
Tennis  

Our tennis team is coached by Mr. Dinith Yasantha Pathiraja. Children of grade 3 and upwards are given extensive training and they will be selected for the junior and senior Tennis teams. Members of the school team will represent the school at doubles and singles of various tennis tournaments.
Badminton  
Our Badminton team is coached by Mr. M. W. Danesh. Children of grade 3 and upwards are given extensive training and they will be selected for under 13, 15 and 17 teams. Members of the school team will represent the school at tournaments in doubles and singles with other schools.
Cricket  
Cricket is popular among the boys. Our cricket team is coached by Mr. Ajith Weerasinghe. Children of grade 3 and upwards are given extensive training and they will be selected for the junior an senior cricket teams. Members of the school team will represent the school at matches with other schools.
Chess  
Chess is very popular among grade 2 to 7 children of the school. Many of them have already participated in various chess tournaments conducted by various chess clubs, and have won medals.
